exhibition # 8 - Lindsey Brown

You quite simply have to see this exhibition to believe the detail and patience which goes into each one of Lindsey Brown's pen and ink drawings. Her interests in People & Animals, patternmaking and black & white combine to make a bold and varied exhibition which we can't wait to set loose! The show opens on Thursday June 9 from 7.30 - 9 pm and we look forward to seeing you there.

exhibition # 8 - open submissions for edinburgh mapped

Our first open submissions exhibition is also our Festival Exhibition this year and we are celebrating both by connecting the dots between the city and the work it inspires. If you have a piece of art work you can link to a specific location in Edinburgh then we'd love to hear from you! Please send an email with up to 3 jpgs to and include the location you associate with the work, a web link and a bit about you. The deadline is July 02. We have restricted space so a selection process will be carried out on the evening of July 03.

The image above is of Tommy Perman's print 'East Claremont Street / Melgund Terrace' and photographer Andrew JL Ansell has captured this print in it's location. We are looking for a range of interpretations, from the literal to highly conceptual as well as a range of locations - so let you imagination run riot. The points highlighted by the artists works will be printed up on a map creating an alternative tour of Edinburgh's inspiring sites.

The works selected from the submissions will be arranged in an exhibition in The Broughton Deli from July 17 - August 28 with a fantastic fiesta of an opening night on Thursday July 28, just in time to warm up for the festival.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Louise Smurthwaite's hand printed cards and notebooks have landed in The Broughton Deli in time for Mother's day... we are pretty sure these won't last long at £5 for a note book and £2.50 for a card. Louise is having the next exhibition here, and we can't wait.
